The Joanne Stevenson Award of Excellence was created in 2006 in memory of Joanne Stevenson, a dedicated employee of Dr. Papneja and AXIS Dental Group who worked with us for 17 years. Joanne died in a tragic snowmobile accident in 2006 in Collingwood, Ontario, leaving behind her husband Mark and three daughters Courtney, Rebekah and Danielle.
It didn’t matter what role Joanne played – mother, wife, daughter, sister, friend, co-worker, role model or mentor. She lived each with the same passion, commitment and loyalty she always embodied. She was true to herself and others and lived by the value of honesty. As a coordinator in our dental practice for 17 years, she always put the office first and never compromised doing what was right.
This award is given out annually to an employee at AXIS that delivers on some of the key values that we hold as cornerstones of our business. They are Loyalty – doing what’s best for the practice; Integrity – walking the talk and truly living our mission statement and values; Trust – a commitment to honesty above all else; and finally Service – displaying the proper attitude and care for our patients.
This award was created to recognize true excellence in an individual’s performance. It’s with great honour that we salute each recipient and their accomplishments. Their outstanding service, contributions and efforts towards others is highly commendable. They’re role models for others by continuing to live by the very essence of Loyalty, Integrity, Trust and Service.
Joanne possessed an exceptional passion to serve the community and involved herself in charitable work on many occasions. As a result, the recipient of this award is granted $1,200, which they can in turn donate to the charity of their choice.
